Prisma Health opens Anderson imaging center

A just-opened Prisma Health Imaging Center in Anderson was established to increase access and affordability for MRI‘s, CT’s, mammograms, breast imaging and ultrasound services, saving outpatients over 60% for the same scans in a hospital setting.

Prisma Health Imaging Center – Anderson, located at 100 Perpetual Square, is Prisma’s second retail imaging center in the Upstate. The system now has six throughout the state, according to a Prisma news release.

“We are excited to bring retail imaging services to the Anderson community,” Thomas Moore, Prisma Health’s executive director of imaging services, said in the release. “The cost savings for outpatients who can schedule ahead is substantial for the same imaging they would receive at the hospital. Our team is ready to take referrals and schedule directly with patients for appropriate, advanced diagnostics that inform their health care decisions. We’re here to explain imaging options and provide an outstanding patient experience for this important step in their care.”

Dr. Nina Vincoff,  executive medical director for Prisma’s radiology care division, said all exams performed in Prisma’s outpatient centers are interpreted by Prisma Health’s fellowship-trained radiologists, ensuring that every imaging study is read by a specialized expert. “Our radiologists also collaborate closely with their physician colleagues across the health system and tailor each patient’s report to the specific clinical concern,” she said.
All of Prisma Health’s imaging locations are listed online. Clinicians can order and schedule imaging for patients when they check out of their office visit.

She said the centers were designed to focus on providing quality care in an affordable and convenient manner.
