A Greenville organization aimed at improving public transportation has launched a public awareness and funding campaign.
Greenville Connects, a coalition of local businesses, nonprofits, and community leaders, has launched the Let’s Fund That campaign to rally support for improved public transportation in Greenville, according to a news release.
The campaign urges residents to advocate for increased funding for Greenlink, the community’s public transit system, ahead of crucial County Council votes on May 20, June 3 and June 17, the release stated.
If approved, this funding will allow Greenlink to provide 30-minute service on all existing bus routes, making transit more reliable for workers, students, seniors and people with disabilities, the release stated.
“We are thrilled to see Greenville continue to grow, but limited transit resources means that our system is insufficient for our current and future mobility needs,” said Erin Predmore, executive director of Greenville Connects, in the release. “Investing in Greenlink would reduce road congestion, strengthen our workforce and support local businesses. A stronger, more connected Greenville starts with better public transit. So, let’s fund that!”
Greenville Connects is calling on the community to get involved today by visiting LetsFundTransit.com. Whether you rely on transit or simply want a more connected, less congested Greenville, your voice matters. Here’s how you can make a difference:
