Universal Eligibility Requirements

Must operate in or directly serve South Carolina’s manufacturing sector
Minimum of 2 years in current role at time of nomination
Nominations may be submitted by peers, supervisors, direct reports, or the nominee themselves
Applications submitted by the nominee.
Recipients must be available to attend the November 4 awards luncheon

Judging Criteria (Scored by Panel)

All nominations will be evaluated by an independent judging panel using the following six pillars:

Operational Impact

Quantifiable improvements in efficiency, throughput, cost reduction, scrap/waste reduction, or facility uptime. Data-backed results are strongly preferred.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

Adoption of new processes, technologies, or methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, automation, etc.) that created lasting, measurable change within the organization.

Safety & Compliance Excellence

Reduction in incident rates, OSHA compliance leadership, or a demonstrable culture-level transformation in workplace safety.

People Leadership & Culture

Investment in workforce development, employee retention, DEI initiatives, apprenticeship programs, or measurable improvements in employee engagement.

Community & Economic Impact

Contributions to South Carolina’s economic growth, local hiring, educational pipeline development, or community partnerships tied to manufacturing.

Resilience & Adaptability

Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively through disruption — whether supply chain challenges, rapid growth, market shifts, or other significant operational pressures.
