The health system says the 4,500-square-foot facility will expand access to high-quality, patient-centered care in one of Columbia’s most established neighborhoods.

The new location reflects MUSC Health’s continued commitment to meeting patients where they are by bringing convenient, comprehensive primary care services closer to home, MUSC Health said in a news release. The practice will offer preventive care, chronic disease management and coordinated specialty referrals.

“This new primary care office represents our commitment to growing alongside the communities we serve,” said Dr. Mac Leppard of MUSC Health in the Midlands. “By expanding into Forest Acres, we’re making it easier for patients and families to access trusted, high-quality care close to home while staying connected to the full resources of MUSC Health.”

The project is being developed in partnership with Cason Development and Mimms Contracting, whose collaboration will bring a modern, patient-focused medical space to a central and convenient location for residents, the news release stated.

Construction is already underway, and the building is slated for completion this fall, the release said.
